A 45-year-old Kitchener man has been charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement after a woman in Guelph was reportedly assaulted by a stranger.
Police said emergency services were called to a Guelph home on Friday morning. An adult woman said she was walking near Willow Road and Silvercreek Parkway North around 6 a.m. when she spoke to a male stranger.
She said the man forced her inside his vehicle, where she was then sexually assaulted.
Police were able to identify the suspect, who was arrested Friday afternoon at his workplace in Guelph. The accused is charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm, sexual assault by strangling and forcible confinement.
