Elizabeth Ziegler Public School in Waterloo has temporarily closed its doors while it undergoes some structural testing.
The Waterloo Region District School Board made the announcement on Monday.
“This closure is in response to a recent concern discovered with the façade of the school,” the statement read.
The board said the elementary school will be closed to students on Tuesday and Wednesday, allowing their staff and contractors time to investigate the issue.

Students and their families are asked not to visit the school during this time, and all before and after school programs have also been cancelled.
“The decision to close the Elizabeth Ziegler building was made out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of students and staff,” the board said. “We anticipate being able to provide a further update for families about next steps before Thursday, March 6.”
