The Waterloo Warriors women’s hockey team advanced to the USports Championship finals, as they moved past the Concordia Stingers in Saturday evening’s semifinal game.
The University of Waterloo team was able to hold Concordia off the scoreboard in the first two periods, while scoring two of their own goals.
Concordia’s Alexandra-Anne Boyer scored eight minutes into the third period to cut the lead in half, before the Warriors scored three unanswered goals after, ultimately winning the semifinal game 5-1 and clinching a spot in the final.

The game was played in Elmira’s Woolwich Memorial Centre while surrounded by a hometown crowd. The Waterloo Warriors will return there to play the gold medal game Sunday at 6 p.m. against the winner of the other semifinal game on Saturday night, Bishop’s University.
