A 72-year-old from Moorefield was killed in a crash just south of Mount Forest early Wednesday morning. Ontario Provincial Police said a vehicle hit a hydro pole along Sideroad 5 West, between Concession 9 and Highway 6, around 1 a.m. The 72-year-old driver had serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to a local hospital, then airlifted to a trauma centre. Their injuries were only described as minor. Sideroad 5 West reopened just before noon. OPP are still investigating the cause of the crash.
