Person from Harriston faces weapons-related charges as part of intimate partner violence investigation

The Ontario Provincial Police have tracked down and arrested a Harriston resident as part of an intimate partner violence investigation that began late last month.

Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to Harriston on Nov. 29 around 3 a.m.

When they arrived, the suspect had already left, but police later issued a warrant for their arrest on two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, theft under $5,000, break and enter a house to commit an indictable offence, domestic mischief and failure to comply with an undertaking.

An arrest was made on Dec. 10. At that time, police said the suspect had weapons on them, leading to additional charges of three counts of possession of a weapon, failure to comply with a prohibition order and failure to comply with an undertaking.
