Pedestrian charged in Guelph collision

A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Tuesday has now been charged for the collision.

Guelph Police said several witnesses saw a Kia SUV hit the man as he was crossing Edinburgh Road South, near Manor Park Crescent, around 4:45 p.m.

Officers determined he had not used the crosswalk, which was about 10 metres away.

The man had only minor injuries and did not need to go to the hospital.

He’s been charged with failing to use a crosswalk under the Highway Traffic Act.
