One person injured in Waterloo armed robbery

One person was injured during an armed robbery in Waterloo on Monday.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service were called to a robbery at a business in the area of Bridgeport Road East and Weber Street North around 8:15 p.m.

Police said an unknown man tried to steal items from the store before a loss prevention officer tried to stop him. The suspect used an edged weapon on the officer and left before police arrived.

The loss prevention officer had minor injuries

Police are looking to identify the man involved.
