A Kitchener Ranger has been handed a five-game suspension after the team’s recent matchup with the North Bay Battalion.

On Tuesday, the Ontario Hockey League posted a disciplinary decision for Matthew Hlacar following a check to the head.

Hlacar was sent off the ice and the Rangers were issued a 5-minute major penalty for the incident, which happened late in the first period.

North Bay’s Aaron Enright left the ice on his own shortly after the hit.

The Rangers went on to shut out the Battalion 6 – 0.
