Kids can golf for free during ‘Take a Kid to the Course’ week

Avid golfers have a chance to instill their love in the next generation with a free program.

More than 500 golf courses across Canada are taking part in the National Golf Course Owners Association Canada’s (NGCOA) “Take A Kid to the Course” event.

During the week-long initiative, running from July 6 until July 12, children under the age of sixteen can play golf for free at participating golf courses, as long as a paying adult is with them.

“Some of the best experiences in golf begin when a parent, grandparent, family member, or mentor introduces a young person to the game. Canadian golf courses are proud to welcome families and help inspire the next generation of golfers,” Nathalie Lavallée, NGCOA’s CEO, said in a news release.

An interactive map is available to help people find local courses that are taking part.

Tee times can be booked directly through participating courses.
