GO bus service is expanding to First Nations communities in southwestern Ontario starting April 5.
Bus route 15, which runs between Brantford and Burlington, will be making stops in Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations.
According to Metrolinx, the extension marks the first time they’ve expanded GO bus services to First Nations communities.
“[It] is part of the transit agency’s dedication to collaboration and partnership with First Nations on improving transportation connections,” a media release said.
The expanded service includes three trips a day in each direction, seven days a week, with connections to Brantford’s bus terminal, McMaster University and Lakeshore West trains at the Aldershot GO Station.
The new stops will be located at:
- Sour Springs Road at Mohawk Road
- Sour Springs Road at Chiefswood Road
- Six Nations Sports & Cultural Memorial Centre
- 50 Generations Drive (Oneida Business Park)
- New Credit Variety & Gas Bar
Bus schedules and service details will be posted March 19 on GO Transit’s website, www.gotransit.com.
