People who use the Elora Waste Facility will need to find another place to take their large items starting next week.

The County of Wellington said the facility will temporarily close for construction at the end of the day on April 5 and won’t reopen until December.

Residents are encouraged to use curbside collection options or visit one of the other local waste sites. To help manage the change, the Belwood Waste Facility will be extending its hours, from Tuesday to Saturday, starting on April 8.

The Elora location will undergo site grading and reconfiguration for easier access to bins, weight scale installation, construction of a new household waste building and scale house, and creating a bigger drop-off area.
