Downtown Kitchener rock attack believed to be targeted

Police are seeking three unknown suspects following an attack in downtown Kitchener, but say there’s no reason for the general public to be concerned.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, a man was hit in the face with a large rock around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, in the area of Queen and Joseph streets.

The 22-year-old man was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the attack was not random, but they do want to hear from anyone who may be able to help them identify the alleged attackers.
