$4.7M worth of drugs seized during searches in Acton, Erin, Georgetown and Oshawa

Forty-six kilograms of cocaine, 400 bottles of liquid codeine, and various other substances were seized during a multi-jurisdictional police investigation.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) launched the investigation into drug trafficking between Ontario and Quebec in March after they received a tip from the Sûreté du Québec.

Investigators said they learned a drug trafficking network was working in the Greater Toronto Area.

On June 4, the OPP, Halton Regional Police Service and Durham Regional Police Service searched five homes in Acton, Georgetown, Erin and Oshawa.

In addition to the cocaine and liquid codeine, officers found 1,400 oxycodone 80 mg tablets, 2,500 oxycodone 5 mg tablets, cell phones and cash.

The estimated street value of the drugs is $4.7 million.

A 34-year-old from Acton was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, trafficking cocaine, and possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking.

A 32-year-old from Georgetown was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of codeine for the purpose of trafficking.

Two 32-year-olds from Oshawa were charged with possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking and possession of codeine for the purpose of trafficking.
