Walk or set yourself a fitness-based challenge while raising awareness and funds to support Alzheimer Society of B.C. programs and services. Get creative, do what works for you – and join an online celebration on Sunday, May 30 to end the month of activity.


Oak Bay Half

Oak Bay Virtual Half Marathon

The 2021 Oak Bay Half Marathon has gone VIRTUAL. Participants who chose to defer in 2020 can register for 2021 or defer for one more year to 2022, after which deferrals will be expired.For 2021, we have added a 5k option to the pre-existing Half-Marathon and 10k. The event typically starts at the beautiful Windsor Park in Oak Bay and winds its way through the heart of Oak Bay’s shopping district. The course then loops out and back along the scenic seaside route of Beach Drive. For the virtual edition, head out in your own community and complete your virtual challenge on your own course or follow along with one of our routes.  Complete one event, or the Triple Crown (Half Marathon, 10k & 5k) Event funds support Santa’s Anonymous. Runners may enjoy a Virtual Race and run from anywhere, anytime from May 15 to 31, 2021. Package Pickup will be held from May 15 to 31, 2021 at Frontrunners (Select Store Pick Up Location: Victoria, Shelbourne, Westshore, Nanaimo). Out-of-town runners have the option at registration to have their race kit shipped to them for a fee.

To celebrate World Oceans Day this June 2021, Pacific Peoples’ Partnership is hosting our inaugural Paddle 4 Pacific peer to peer fundraiser. Paddle 4 Pacific will invite individuals, teams and business owners to safely paddle together out on the water, while helping to raise funds in support of initiatives that benefit the peoples and places of the North and South Pacific. This fundraising initiative benefits Victoria-based non-profit Pacific Peoples’ Partnership (PPP) and our Pacific Island community partners.

Dive deep into the stories and schiend that surround the magnificent orca, spirit of BC's wild coast and apex predator of all oceans. Follow the currents of ecoligical activism, popular culture and Indigenous beliefs to gain a new appreciation for these sohpisticated animals, long feared inWestern cultures as "killer whales." Discover the comples social structure of orca society and reflect on the surprising consequences of captivity.

Learn which orca populations are thriving and which are at risk, and surface with a new understanding of how orcas and humans are inextricably connected: we are all part of nature, not apart from nature. 


Cool-Aid Homecoming Matching Challenge

Homecoming 2021 is an online matching challenge taking place during a two-week period in May. Funds raised through this campaign will support programs that connect people with the resources they need to obtain income, employment, food security, and prevent homelessness.
