NEW YORK -- The new musical "Bright Star" from Grammy-winners Steve Martin and Edie Brickell will light up the Great White Way this spring, starring Carmen Cusack.

Joey Parnes, the Tony-winning producer of "A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder," announced Tuesday that the show will play a Shubert theatre, to be announced later, starting in March.

Martin and Brickell collaborated on the music, with Brickell penning the lyrics and Martin writing the story. It was inspired by their collaboration on the CD "Love Has Come for You."

Set in the South in the 1920s and 1940s, the show is about a woman who befriends a soldier just home from the Second World War. The show had its premiere in San Diego in 2014 and this winter has a run at the Kennedy Center.
