Students share visions for future of Alberta pediatric health care
More than 40 Grades 3 and 4 students at Edmonton's Wihkwentowin School showcased their visions on Thursday for the future of pediatric care after spending months collaborating and learning from doctors, design experts and staff with the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation.
They shared their ideas and designs for care at a new Stollery Children's Hospital during a science fair-style event at their central Edmonton school.
"(Adults) can design a really functional medical hospital, but we don't think like kids," Grade 4 teacher Kara Weis, who came up with the idea for the project, told CTV News Edmonton. "If we are trying to design a space that is specifically for children, we always want to be mindful that the design is functional for kids."
