Video captures footage of moments leading to strip-mall arson

Security camera footage shows the moments leading up to an arson that destroyed 25 units at an Edmonton strip mall.

CTV News Edmonton has obtained security video from moments before a southeast strip mall was set on fire.

The video comes from one of the businesses in the area.

It appears to show someone walking up to one of the stores before a burst of light takes over the screen.

Firefighters arrived at the fire on 92 Street and 34 Avenue west of Mill Woods just after midnight on Tuesday.

Police are investigating the fire as an arson.

They say 25 units have been destroyed. The damage estimate is several million dollars.
