A 16-year-old has been charged in connection with the seizure of hundreds of grams of cocaine and more than $14,000 in cash from a Red Deer home.
RCMP carried out a search at the home in the Rosedale neighbourhood on March 19. Officers found the cash, around 800 grams of cocaine, as well as packing materials and a digital scale.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime over $5,000 and illegal possession of government documents.
The youth was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on April 3.
