Several people were sent to hospital after a SUV hit an Edmonton police car Sunday.

Around 2 p.m., a Toyota 4Runner was driving along 117 Avenue and “went through the stop sign” at 93 Street, according to police.

The SUV hit a marked police car that was travelling on 93 Street.

This caused two other vehicles to be hit.

The driver and passenger of the 4Runner were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police officers were brought to hospital for precautionary reasons. No other injuries were reported.

The crash is under investigation.
