Education support staff in a school division west of Edmonton voted to join the thousands of workers on strike in Alberta.
Grande Yellowhead School Division support staff voted 82 per cent in favour of job action.
The workers are members of CUPE Local 1357 and have been without a contract since 2021, the union said on Monday.
The school division operates in the areas of Jasper, Hinton, Edson and Grande Cache.
More than 6,000 support workers in nine school divisions across the province, including Edmonton Public Schools, are on strike as their unions attempt to negotiate higher wages.
CUPE 1357 has not provided its 72-hour strike notice yet.
