A number of roads were closed in east Edmonton early Tuesday morning after a semi-truck hit an overpass.
A semi carrying logging equipment on Sherwood Park Freeway struck the overpass on 34 Street at around 11:30 p.m., the Edmonton Police Service said.

The crash caused “extensive damage,” RCMP said.
No one was hurt in the crash.

The following roads were closed after the crash: 34 Street northbound and southbound and Sherwood Park Freeway westbound.
Traffic was being diverted through the westbound ramps.

Drivers were asked to use alternate routes during the morning commute.

The bridge will remain closed indefinitely, RCMP said.
