Staff and students at Edmonton’s NorQuest College spent Wednesday afternoon enjoying one of Canada’s favourite sports.
The downtown college held its eighth annual road hockey tournament, an effort organizers say helps some people learn more about the sport and connect with the community.
“We all know how big hockey is to Canadian culture,” tournament organizer Sarah Smyth told CTV News Edmonton on Wednesday.
“I think when you’re immersed and you understand a big part of a culture, you’re definitely going to be more settled.”
The tournament was held in a parking lot across 108 Street from the school.
