Pedestrian struck and killed in northwest Edmonton: police

Man is dead after being struck by vehicle EPS Major Collisions is investigating after the mid-afternoon accident.

EDMONTON — Police are investigating a fatal collision between a pedestrian and vehicle in the Calder area Friday afternoon.

Officers responded to 129 Avenue and 126 Street at approximately 1 p.m.

EMS performed CPR on the male, whose age and identity were not released, however he was pronounced dead on scene.

Motorists were asked to avoid the area as police investigate.

In a news release sent after 9:30 p.m. Friday, police said homicide detectives were taking the lead on the investigation into the accident.
