A unique dog park is having its grand opening at West Edmonton Mall this weekend and dog owners are encouraged to bring an extra towel.
Fantasia Dogs will be western Canada’s first indoor water splash park for dogs. It aims to be a place for socialization for dogs while combining all the fun a pup can have at a splash park with certified dog professionals on site.

The initiative, in partnership with Summit Service Dogs, provides “a dedicated, no-cost training space” for service dogs who are partnered with people who have autism, PTSD and other medical needs.
The water park also provides dog day care services, various activities at the Stay and Play Social space and a lounge for dogs to rest up with dog-safe ice cream and dog treats.
The facility has various packages for purchase, including portraits, birthday packages for dogs, and a video compilation to commemorate the pup’s stay.
The grand opening is scheduled for March 15 from 10 a.m. to noon with prizes, doggy goody bags and a “Pup Pawtraits” activity for guests.
Fantasia Dogs is located at Entrance 32 by Hudson’s Bay.
