Edmonton man dead after car crash south of Leduc

A pedestrian was killed in a car crash south of Leduc on Thursday evening.

A car struck a 57-year-old man from Edmonton on Highway 2 near Township Road 490 around 11:25 p.m. Thursday, Leduc RCMP said.

Police said that the victim was struck by one or more vehicles. The victim was declared dead at the scene and no one else reported injuries..

RCMP closed southbound traffic on Highway 2 for nearly four hours to investigate the crash.

The highway has since been cleared and normal traffic flow has resumed.

Mounties are still investigating the collision.
