Snow is moving into the Edmonton region from the northwest late this afternoon.
Combined with gusts in the 60-90 km/h range, significantly reduced visibility is expected and that may continue through the afternoon/evening commute.
A blowing snow advisory has been issued for the city and surrounding regions, as well as areas from Edson/Whitecourt/Athabasca south and southeast through the Red Deer/Lloydminster and Coronation regions.
The advisory was issued by Environment and Climate Change around 3:45 p.m.
Radar indicates this storm could be worse for areas north and northeast of Edmonton than in the city.
The stormiest conditions in Edmonton are expected between roughly 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
