1 arrested, 3 sought after group assault, robbery in Grande Cache

Mounties in northern Alberta are looking for potentially three people who assaulted and robbed a man near Grande Cache Community High School on Sept. 6.

One person, a 17-year-old boy, has already been arrested and charged.

The victim called police around 3:10 a.m. on Sept. 6 and reported being assaulted by a group of people, possibly four. He identified one of the suspects, who was later found and arrested.

The victim sustained serious injuries but was expected to recover.

Police are now asking for help identifying his other attackers. Anyone with security footage of the area near the school between 2:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 6 is asked to call police.

The charged 17-year-old is accused of aggravated assault and theft under $5,000. He was conditionally released and scheduled to appear in court in Grande Cache on Nov. 20.
