Victoria police say a man who intentionally tried to hit two people with his vehicle, including his ex-girlfriend, has been charged with attempted murder.

Officers received a report of a crash in the 1000-block of Gillespie Place around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.

After speaking with the occupants of both vehicles, police determined there was a history of domestic violence between two of the people involved.

The two victims weren’t in a vehicle at the time, and one of them suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say Sebastien Normandin, 46, drove his vehicle at two people in an attempt to injure or kill them, and he has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Normandin remains in custody and will make his next court appearance Jan. 4.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
