Island Health has issued a warning after a deadly street drug was discovered in a Vancouver Island city.
The health authority says carfentanil has made its way to Port Alberni and it’s causing “severe overdoses and fatalities.”
The lethal opioid is extremely harmful, experts say it’s approximately 100 times stronger than fentanyl.
Carfentanil was discovered in Nanaimo in February.
