Child suffers life-threatening injuries at Victoria hotel pool

VICTORIA -- A child is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after an accident at a Victoria hotel pool Wednesday.
Police were called to the Hotel Zed on Douglas Street around 6 p.m.
Officers and paramedics performed CPR on the child, who suffered potentially life-threatening injuries in the hotel’s pool area.
The child was taken to hospital by paramedics and remains in hospital Thursday afternoon.
Police say officers are supporting the family while their investigation is ongoing.
"Detectives with VicPD’s Investigative Services Division and officers from the Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene in order to conduct a fulsome investigation into the circumstances of this incident," Victoria polcie said Thursday.
"Officers do not believe a criminal act was involved in this tragic incident," police said.
