Canadians 'wear red' to honour fallen Mounties

As Canadians gathered in Moncton Tuesday to honour the lives of three fallen Mounties killed in the line of duty last week, others are paying respects in the most simple of ways: by wearing red, the same colour of the RCMP's unmistakable uniform.

The three Mounties were shot dead on June 4 as they responded to calls about a gunman roaming a Moncton neighbourhood. Two other officers were injured.

The 24-year-old suspect was arrested after a 30-hour manhunt involving more than 300 law-enforcement personnel. He is facing three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
