CTV’s Weather in the Classroom is back for 2025/2026 and we are so excited to be a part of your weather program!

Due to the volume of requests during the last school year, we have adjusted the sign-up process to make it a little easier. Please go over our options below before picking your booking date in the calendar below. On days where two bookings are available, the morning booking is for a virtual lesson and the afternoon booking is for an in-studio weather class at CTV Calgary. Every other booking is for in-class visits.

Learning Options

1. Weather in the Classroom experience in the CTV studio
Previously, as part of a pilot project, we offered a Weather in the Classroom experience in the CTV studio. After so many rave reviews, we are thrilled to be able to offer this for the 2025/2026 school year. This field trip begins with a 40-minute weather lesson provided by our CTV weather team. Then the students get to try out their skills on the green screen in the CTV weather studio and this includes a visit to the Virgin 98.5 radio studio. The only cost to the school is arranging your own field trip transportation to and from CTV studios. Parent volunteers are also welcome to attend! There is a maximum of 75 students for this adventure.

Field trip timing:

  • 12:15 Arrival and getting settled in the learning room

  • 12:20-1:00 Weather class

  • 1:00-2:00 Students use the green screen and visit radio

  • 2:00 Class photo (with students who have media release approvals) *The only cost to the school is arranging their own field trip transportation to and from CTV studios. Parent volunteers are also welcome to attend! There is a maximum of 75 students for this adventure.

2. Weather in the Classroom (in-person option)

This is a one-hour weather class provided by one of our Weather Anchors in your classroom. Typically, this program runs a little longer than the set hour (grade fives have so many great questions), so it’s often best to plan for a 90 minute visit.

3. Weather in the Classroom (online option)

This is a one-hour weather class provided by one of our Weather Anchors virtually (this experience is available through Teams or Zoom). Once you have booked a date, a member of our weather team will contact you to schedule a tech test prior to your presentation.
