Fort Macleod emergency room temporarily closed over Wednesday night due to staff shortage

The Fort Macleod emergency department is temporarily closed due to a lack of clinical personnel shortage.

The ER closed at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning and will reopen Thursday morning at 8 a.m.

Nursing staff remain on-site during the closure to provide care for long-term residents, but anyone requiring emergency care is asked to call 911 and will be redirected to Chinook Hospital in Lethbridge.
