The Calgary Wranglers got a lot of help from Martin Frk Friday night in Abbotsford and rode Frk’s hot hand to a 5-4 shootout win over the Canucks.

Frk scored a hat trick in regulation, and added one more goal in the shootout, setting the scene for William Stromgren to seal the deal and give the club the win.

Rory Kerins had the other goal for the Wranglers, his 33rd of the season.

Christian Wolanin, Cooper Walker, Danila Klimovich and Nate Smith scored for the Canucks.

Abbotsford outshot Calgary 30-22, with Wrangler goaltender Walteri Ignatjew picking up the victory.

The Wranglers are sixth in the AHL’s Pacific Division with 77 points, two behind the San Jose Barracudas.

Next up the Wranglers is a Saturday rematch with the Canucks in Abbotsford. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. MT.
