Wrangler freefall continues with 6-5 loss to Moose in Manitoba

The Wranglers threw everything they had at the Moose Saturday, but the result ended up a heartbreaking 6-5 loss in Winnipeg.

It was Calgary’s 12th loss in its last 13 games.

After falling behind by a goal, Sam Morton scored to send the Wranglers to the dressing room after one period tied at a goal apiece.

Adam Klapka scored in the second, but the Moose scored twice to take a 3-2 lead into the third period.

Calgary’s Jonathan Aspirot tied it up two minuntes into the third period, then Dryden Hunt gave the Wranglers a one-goal lead at 4-3.

The Moose again fought back, scoring twice to take a 5-4 lead.

Yan Kuznetsov tied it at five apiece, but on a late power play, the Moose scored to give the home team a 6-5 win.

Dominic Tominato, Fabian Wagner, Danny Zhilkin, and Isaak Phillips contributed goals for the Moose, with Mason Shaw adding a pair, including the game-winner.

Devin Cooley stopped 30 shots for the Wranglers.

The Wranglers and Moose faced off again Sunday at 1 p.m. MT in Winnipeg. The score was tied at a goal apiece after one period.
