Warm weather continues with a chance of scattered showers Friday

Thursday will be warm and sunny across southern Alberta with daytime highs in the low 20s.

The ridge of high pressure that has been responsible for our recent stable weather pattern remains parked over the west and will continue to limit any significant threat of active weather.

As expected on Wednesday there was a stronger wind gradient in Calgary, with gusts peaking around 40 km/h by the afternoon.

Thursday will be less windy for most of southern Alberta but that absence of wind could allow for pockets of fog to develop overnight.

There is a slight chance of scattered showers forming along the Foothills later today before tracking north and east overnight.

The edge of that precipitation could edge into Calgary for the Friday morning commute.

Outside of that risk most of the region will be clear and warm for the next few days with highs ranging from 23 C to 28 C and lows between 9 C and 11 C.

The normal range in Calgary this time of year is 17 C for a high and 4 C for a low.\
