Tigers roar late in comeback win over Hitmen to take control of series

The Calgary Hitmen and Medicine Hat Tigers in action Saturday night at Co-Op Place in Game 2 of their WHL playoff series.

The Medicine Hat Tigers kept digging out of holes Saturday night until they caught and passed the Calgary Hitmen en route to a 4-3 victory.

The win gave the Tigers a two-game lead in their WHL playoff series against Calgary.

The Hitmen came flying out of the gate early, building a 2-0 lead, getting goals from Caine Wilkie and Keaton Jundt.

The Tigers clawed back when Kadon McCann scored to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Ethan Moore then scored his seventh goal of the WHL playoffs to restore the Hitmen lead to two goals going into the second period.

Kaden Stengrim cut the deficit to a goal in the second and Jonas Woo scored on a dramatic rush to tie it up at three apiece heading to the third period.

Josh Van Mulligan scored for Medicine Hat at the 4:30 mark of the third, and the Tigers hung on for a 4-3 victory.

Calgary outshot the Tigers 30-24 on the night.

Jordan Switzer picked up the victory for Medicine Hat.

The two clubs return to Calgary for Game 3, Monday at 7 p.m. at the Saddledome.
