The City of Calgary is planning on opening two of its golf courses at the start of April.

Weather permitting, the city says Shaganappi Point will open on April 1, while Maple Ridge will open on April 4.

“In preparation for the upcoming golf season, City staff are working diligently in our clubhouses and on course maintenance to ensure the best possible spring conditions and golf experience for our customers,” the city said in a news release.

As of this week, the Shaganappi Point driving range is also open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The city notes that demand could be high as courses first open, so the booking process may be slower than usual.

Online booking dates will be announced on the city’s website when they are available.
