A number of communities in central and southern Alberta posted daytime highs in the low 20s on Monday, including Medicine Hat which was the hot spot in Canada with a high of 24.8 C.
Tuesday will bring more moderate temperatures as a low pressure system north of the Prairie provinces introduces some instability into Alberta.
Rain moved in to northern Alberta overnight and will continue to impact the province throughout the day.
Light and scattered showers are possible in Calgary and area but accumulations should be minimal.

More sunshine is expected on Wednesday, coinciding with increasing temperatures and, by Thursday, the daytime high in Calgary is expected to reach 17 C.
That trend of above seasonal temperatures will continue into (at least) the middle of next week with overnight values also forecast to be warmer than average.
