Calgary police are looking for help to identify a group of three suspects behind a copper wire theft at a southeast business.

At 3 a.m. on March 17, police say the individuals broke into a business in the Foothills Industrial Park and stole five rolls of copper wire.

Authorities say the thieves used a truck and trailer to smash their way through a fence.

The copper wire was loaded into the trailer and the suspects fled the scene.

Police say the wire is valued at more than $50,000.

The vehicle is described as a Dodge Ram 3500 dually. The enclosed trailer was white.

Police say the licence plate attached to the trailer, which was captured on surveillance video, determined that it was stolen.

Officials believe a second vehicle, a dark-coloured truck, was also used by the suspects.

Anyone with information or dash-cam footage from the Foothills Industrial Area between 2:40 and 3:15 a.m. on Monday, March 17, is asked to contact police.
