Sale of $1.3M Cochrane home to support life-saving programs for children

A home in Cochrane's Sunset Ridge is being sold to raise funds for children's health care in Calgary and Edmonton.

A $1.3-million home, just finished in Cochrane’s Sunset Ridge community will soon be sold, with the net proceeds going to support programs that save the lives of children in Calgary and Edmonton.

Castellano Homes is behind the 2,900-square-foot, four-bedroom home and the company’s owners Sam and Suzanna Iaquinta said it will be sold for its Homes for Hope charity.

The couple began the non-profit after one of their twin sons fell critically ill and needed to be treated at both the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary and Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.

The Iaquintas say the home sale will support the programs that transport sick children by ground or by air.

“Not only is it a number or a dollar that’s going into the foundation, it’s attracting an entire community and also an entire pool of trades, all working together to create this opportunity for future families that may require future help from the hospitals,” said Sam Iaquinta.

The Sunset Ridge custom home is the second one Castellano Homes has sold in support of the charity.
