Two people are in hospital and multiple people are in custody in the aftermath of a shooting Tuesday evening in the southeast Calgary community of Albert Park/Radisson Heights.
Multiple calls to 911 were made just before 7 p.m., reporting shots fired in the 2700 block of 12th Avenue S.E.
Police believe the occupants of two vehicles exchanged gunfire.
One person believed to be involved was left in life-threatening condition, another in non-life-threatening condition, and the others fled, police said.

One nearby resident called the gunfire sporadic.
“I counted more than 15 rounds,” he said.
“It was done within two minutes, I would say, and the cops came and pulled in around 15 minutes after that.”
Police and EMS arrived to find the injured individuals, who were transported to hospital.
According to police, the person who was in life-threatening condition has since been upgraded to stable.

At the scene, police took multiple people into custody, though no charges had been laid Tuesday night.
Police said in the aftermath of the shooting, people believed to be involved in the incident were thought to have returned to an apartment.
It’s believed the incident was targeted, and police said there was no ongoing threat to the public.
