Several people were transported to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash in Calgary’s northeast on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened around 7 p.m., at 52nd Street and Madigan Drive N.E.

Police say a northbound vehicle collided with approximately five other vehicles, resulting in serious injuries for several people.

“Injuries right now are considered stable for all involved,” said Acting Duty Staff Sgt. Darrel Schmidt.

“There are some serious injuries, but non-life-threatening, non-life-altering.”

The circumstances around the crash are under investigation.

“Alcohol is no longer being considered a factor; however, speed is,” Schmidt said.
