Lethbridge police excited for third annual ‘Trunk or Treat’ event on Halloween night

Law enforcement in the southern Alberta city of Lethbridge will get into the Halloween spirit for yet another year.

The Lethbridge Police Service will host its third annual “Trunk or Treat” event on Halloween night.

Youth and their families will be able to trick-or-treat safely at decorated police cars.

Locations at Nicholas Sheran Park and Logan Boulet Arena will return.

New this year is a third location at the Nikka Yuko and Henderson Lake parking lot.

Police expect thousands of kids between the three locations.

“It’s great to just get in and enjoy some time together, interacting with each other—not on a negative level—with these families and children across the city,” said Const. Joel Running with the LPS.

Running is one of the event’s organizers.

“Just to interact and see the smiles and the joy that comes with those kids coming in and seeing us and wanting to interact with us on a positive note,” he said.

Trunk or Treat goes from 5 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31.

The LPS says, “While this free, family-friendly event is designed for families with younger children, all youth are welcome to attend.”
