Lethbridge Legion preparing range of activities, events leading up to Remembrance Day

With less than two weeks until Remembrance Day, the Lethbridge Legion is preparing to host a range of activities and events.

The Legion will hold Tag Day on Saturday, where poppies will become available to the public, with various youth and cadet groups helping hand them out.

A poppy flag raising is set for 1 p.m. on Nov. 4 outside city hall.

Next Wednesday, Legion members will clean veteran markers at Mountain View Cemetery.

And the Lethbridge Hurricanes will host their Military Appreciation Night on Nov. 7.

“I would just encourage everyone to wear a poppy and come on out on Remembrance Day,” said Glenn Miller with the Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch No. 4.

On Remembrance Day, there are two ceremonies planned—one indoors at the Lethbridge Trade and Convention Centre and the other outside at the Cenotaph.
