Cause of deadly Deerfoot Trail crash remains unknown, dash-cam footage sought

Published:

Police are still piecing together what caused Tuesday’s fatal rollover on Deerfoot Trail but have determined speed, alcohol and drugs were not factors.

Calgary police say neither speed nor impairment are believed to be factors in a deadly crash on Deerfoot Trail on Tuesday.

The collision happened in the northbound lanes of Deerfoot directly beneath the Eighth Avenue N.E. overpass at 9:40 a.m.

Police say the driver, a man in his 60s, was travelling north in a 2008 Toyota Camry when the vehicle exited the right side of the road, moving across the shoulder and into some rocks.
