Calgary police release photos of liquor store robbery suspect

Calgary police have released photos of a man believed to be responsible for an armed robbery at a South Calgary liquor store last month.

The robbery at the CostLow Liquor Store in the 2000 block of 26 Avenue S.W. happened just before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

Police allege the suspect hid several bottles of booze in a bag, then brought one with him to the till.

“He then pulled out what appeared to be a firearm and got into a verbal altercation with the store clerk,” said a Wednesday news release.

It’s alleged the suspect left with the stolen alcohol.

Police describe him as being in his mid-30s with a medium build and a goatee.

He was wearing a black hooded jacket, dark sunglasses, blue jeans with white stitching and carrying a grey-brown duffle bag.

Anyone with information on the incident, or who knows the identity of the suspect, is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
