Calgary man faces nearly a dozen drugs and weapons charges

Published:

A 32-year-old Calgary man faces a series of charges in connection with a bust at a Lynnwood home earlier this month.

Calgary police say Mitchell Scott Woods was charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the proceeds of crime, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number.

He was arrested after police seized a 12-gauge breacher shotgun, a 22-caliber rifle, 25 grams of cocaine and 10 grams of methamphetamine from a home.

Police initiated the operation after they were told about drug activity at the location and that there was a child present.

No child was at the home when police conducted a search.

Woods is expected in court on March 31.
