Calgary police say a man has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a woman in a Beltline park.
Police say the victim was walking her dog through Central Memorial Park, located at 12 Avenue and Fourth Street S.W., at 2:30 p.m. on March 7, when a man approached her and asked to pet her dog.
It’s alleged the man then touched the woman without her consent.
The victim was able to push the man away and leave, but reported that as she left, she saw the man approach another woman walking a large, white dog and touch her without consent.
In a Friday update, police said the second woman has yet to come forward, though investigators are still hoping to speak with her.
Garrett Williams Chard, 36, of Calgary, is charged with one count of sexual assault and remains in custody.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
