A Calgary girl is asking for something very special for her eighth birthday: donations for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Neurosurgery unit.
Eight-year-old Tallyn Spring’s efforts are being recognized with an award – the King Charles Coronation Medal.
Since her fourth birthday, Tallyn has been asking for donations instead of gifts after her older sister was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
She’s already raised more than $20,000 for neurological research.
She does it by challenging people to donate and getting businesses to match funds.
That was an invitation, by the way. If you want to help, head down to Tallyn’s Annual Skate Party at the Cardel Rec Centre on Feb. 8.
